Michael is the firm’s founder and managing attorney. He received his Juris Doctor degree and his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota. He also attended Columbia University School of Law and the University of Seville in Spain.
Michael has practiced immigration law exclusively for more than twenty years and is widely recognized as one of Minnesota’s top immigration lawyers. He is the only immigration attorney selected as a Super Lawyer by Minnesota Law & Politics for the past ten consecutive years; is past Chair of the Minnesota-Dakota Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the Minnesota State Bar Association Immigration Law Section; has served on AILA’s liaison committee to the Department of State Visa Office; and is Associate Editor of AILA’s Visa Processing Guide. Michael handles complex removal, adjustment of status, waivers, naturalization, criminal-related, employment-based, investment-related, and federal litigation cases, with a particular focus representing clients with complex visa matters at various U.S. consulates worldwide. He has successfully represented thousands of individuals in all areas of immigration law before the immigration agencies, immigration courts, U.S. consulates, and federal courts.
Michael is a frequent author and popular lecturer on a wide variety of immigration law topics and speaks Spanish, French and Hebrew.
